At FUTURUM we are always looking for ways to improve product quality, but it’s not only about quality. As a cycling brand, we take our responsibility for a sustainable way of producing our products. For instance with the new RCLD base layers. During product development we always kept in mind what the least impact for our planet would be.

By using yarn from recycled plastic, we are making sure that we need less new raw material and we're giving a new life to waste. At FUTURUM we say: we like to suffer in nature, but nature doesn't have to suffer for us. Martijn Merkx, product developer at FUTURUM about the search for the best sustainable yarns: ‘’After expressing a clear desire for the use of natural or recycled materials to our production partners, we combined our efforts in looking for the optimum materials for each of the products, which do not have a negative influence on the performance. After thoroughly testing a number of selected materials and yarns, we ended up with a small selection, which we used to make prototypes for the final field tests. We were amazed by the results of the version in which we used the yarns which are now used in the new production models. Even better than the previous non-recycled models!"
